Behind Meg's Metal Designs
At Meg’s Metal Designs, I create metal garden décor inspired by gardens, wild landscapes, and the beauty of the outdoors. Working with bare metal, each piece is carefully shaped, assembled, and finished by hand to age gracefully and develop a unique patina over time.
After many years in finance, I followed my passion for making, designing, and creating. My workshop days are spent in my boiler suit and welding mask, surrounded by sparks, tools, and the clatter of metal — a hands-on, satisfying process I truly love.
I’m lucky to have my husband nearby, a highly skilled precision engineer, who has given me a tiny “girl space” to work. His support allows me to pursue my craft in a dedicated space without affecting the professional work he’s built over decades. With our two dogs keeping us company, the workshop is always full of creativity, encouragement and a little chaos (mostly mine, not his).
Every piece I make is designed to live outdoors, in bare metal or naturally weathered finishes, bringing charm and character to gardens.
Because metal shouldn’t stay shiny — it should be raw, weathered, and full of story
